At Pownall Green Primary School we believe in creating the foundations on which children can build their futures. Our curriculum is designed to be inspiring, inclusive and ambitious so that all our children ‘love learning’ and ‘love life!’. Our schemes of work for each subject start in EYFS and set out for each year group: learning objectives; key knowledge and vocabulary; a progressive series of lessons and curriculum end-points.
In addition to acquiring a rich and broad knowledge-base, transferrable skills such as independence, creativity, collaboration, self-management and reflection are developed across the curriculum so that our children develop skills for learning and skills for life. Our curriculum enrichment opportunities, ‘The Pownall Experience’, provide further opportunities to go beyond the academic and develop a well-rounded love of learning and love of life!
We would love to welcome you to one of our open mornings this autumn. We are running two sessions on each day (9:15am and 10:45am). The visit includes a talk from the Headteacher, Mrs Kersh, then a tour around the school led by our older children in school.
Open Days – 1st October and 19th November.
If you would like to attend, please indicate which session you would like on the following link: https://forms.gle/YFW4v6SbynPajvHT6. This open morning is designed for parents/carers to learn more about the school but we do understand that your child may need to come too. Please note that due to space constraints
pushchairs need to be left at the entrance and we can only accommodate parking for families with mobility needs.
If you are unable to attend one of our open mornings, you can arrange a visit by contacting our Office Manager, Mrs M. Yates on the telephone number below.
We look forward to meeting you,
Julie Kersh M.Ed, B.Ed (HONS), Dip Ed SEN
